Search for the Stars 2014 was a huge success with close to 500 people in attendance.  The entire cast put everything they had into their performances resulting in an excellent concert.  At the end of the evening the Novice, Junior and Senior Stars and the Songwriter of the Year were named.

Baylee Turner from Melfort received the Novice Star Award and was presented $100 and a trophy.  The Junior Star for 2014 is Relan Meeks who received $500 and a trophy.  Daniel LeBlanc named Senior Star, received $1000 and a trophy. 

The Songwriter of the Year award ($500 plus a trophy) was award to ‘Cheap Luxury’.  Band members are Joel Rohs, James Scarrow, Stephen Williams and Tanner Lajeunesse.  The band was also awarded the opportunity to record their original song with Big Drum Media, the Singer/Songwriter Contest sponsor. Hats off to all the performers, the judges and the volunteers who helped to make Search for the Stars 2014 a great success!

At 7:30 p.m. (May 29), All Mighty Voice will perform as part of the Spotlight on Local Talent Program.  All Mighty Voice has just released their new CD which will be available for purchase at the concert. Also on stage will be Allyson Reigh and her band.

Next Wednesday, June 4 at 7 p.m., the E. A. Rawlinson Centre invites the community to the Fall 2014 Season Preview.  The Season Preview is our opportunity to unveil the lineup for the next season.  

The Season Preview is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend.  We love to see our regular patrons and are thrilled to welcome new faces.  The evening begins with 30 minutes of live entertainment with fiddle player Dean Bernier and his band. 

The video preview will be around 50 minutes long and will show video clips of all of the artists who will be on the stage in the Fall.  Subscription Series sales begin after the preview and our advertising campaign will be launched.

There is free coffee and dainties available for everyone in attendance. A cash bar will also be available. Attendees can enter a free draw for tickets. 

First prize is one Fall 2014 Subscription Series, the second place prize is a choice of six concerts in the Fall series and the third prize is the choice of one pair of tickets for any show in the series.
