Prince Albert brought home its share of hardware from the 25th annual Saskatchewan Country Music Association awards gala and industry awards at the Evergreen Convention Centre in Nipawin over the weekend.

Prince Albert’s Rich McFarlane’s Mosaic Music won Recording Studio of the Year while he was named to the All Star Band (Guitar) and All Star Band (Specialty).

Donny Parenteau was also named to the All Star Band for fiddle while The Trudel Family won Country Gospel Album of the Year with “Not Unto Us.”

Longtime CKBI announcer Don Mitchell captured the award for On Air Personality (Major Market) for his work at CKBI while Larry Krause took the TV/Radio Show of the Year for his Timberline Music Show

The busy weekend of activities in Nipawin included the new artist showcase, youth showcase, music seminars, a cabaret with Doc Walker, a country gospel showcase, a songwriter’s circle, and the 25th Annual SCMA Awards Gala with Charlie Major.
