On Sunday, April 6, 33 young performers who will make up the 20 acts that will be showcased in Search for the Stars 2014 assembled together for a workshop with facilitators Jaclyn Young, Michael Hughes and Dave Pura.

After a brief meet and greet, two concurrent sessions were held.  Jaclyn Young conducted a class on Stagecraft and the Do’s and Don’ts of Auditioning.

Songwriters had a session with Dave Pura and Michael Hughes (both singer/songwriters) touching on various aspects of song writing. Following the lunch break Jaclyn presented a workshop on ‘becoming a vocalist’ where she spoke about the importance of warming-up and demonstrated some good warm- up techniques. She also touched on proper breathing technique, microphone technique, finding your own voice and pitch control.

Concurrently Dave and Michael conducted a performance and instrumental workshop.  The remainder of the day was spent in the theatre where every act was work shopped.  Suggestions were given to the performers to bring out the very best in each act and to bring their performances to the next level.
