The E.A. Rawlinson Centre is happy to announce that tickets are now on sale at the Box Office, by telephone and on-line for Country and Christmas Concert with the Gatlins. This Canadian Tire Concert Series presentation will be held on Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m. If your social club, family group or business would like to attend as a large group, a 10 per cent discount is offered for group sales of 10 or more tickets.
On Sunday, Sept. 22, music lovers will be highly entertained by guitarist Bob Evans. PotashCorp’s Saskatchewan’s Own artist, Bob Evans is considered to be one of Canada’s guitar playing treasures.
Bob Evans’ concerts feature his original contemporary guitar music, traditional roots music and some nice warm vocals as well. Bob has a comfortable stage presence, a good sense of humour and the ability to tell a good story. He is an internationally respected guitarist, having won the 2008 National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship and the 2012 International Contemporary Thumbpicking Championship in Kentucky.
On Monday, Sept. 23, Juno award-winning Rose Cousins performs at the Olive and John Diefenbaker Theatre. Rose Cousins is a singer songwriter and recording artist who hales originally from Prince Edward Island. In 2013 she not only won the Juno Award for Solo Roots and Traditional Album of the Year but also won three East Coast Music Awards and had one of her songs featured on Grey’s Anatomy.
Rose Cousins has released three award winning CDs. Her great voice and solid songwriting has gained the respect of artists both nationally and internationally and as a result she has collaborated with many artists in the recording studio and on tour including Jenn Grant, Joel Plaskett, Royal Wood, Jill Barber, Emm Gryner and Valdy to name just a few.
Rose Cousins will be joined by Rachel Sermanni as her opening act. Rachel Sermanni, a Scottish-born folk singer, has opened for such big names as Ron Sexsmith and Elvis Costello and was invited by Mumford and Sons to be part of one of their recording sessions.
