Although civic and school board candidates have been coming out of the woodwork for months, the official nomination process doesn’t begin until next week.
On Tuesday, Sept. 4, nomination papers for candidates in the coming civic and school board election will be available from 8 a.m., until 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 — nomination day.
Nomination packages can be picked up and submitted at City Hall, at 1084 Central Avenue, the Prince Albert Roman Catholic Separate School Division building at 118 11th St. E., and the Saskatchewan Rivers School Division building at 545 11th St. E.
Packages can be picked up and submitted during regular office hours, from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Friday, except nomination day, during which time they must be picked up by 4 p.m.
A deposit of $100 in cash must accommodate nomination forms, in cash, certified cheque, or money order.
The withdrawal of nominations deadline is Sept. 20, and advance-polling dates will take place sporadically from Oct. 10 to 20.
The civic and school boards election will be held on Oct. 24.
