At least one new councillor had a good sleep on Tuesday night.

Mark Tweidt of Ward 7 was the only councillor who was acclaimed. He was still out knocking on doors on Tuesday evening.

“I actually got unbelievable reception,” he said. “They couldn’t believe that I was out in the cold and walking. I’m a firm believer that even if I got acclaimed, you have to go out and do your part.”

Tweidt was obviously an interested onlooker on Wednesday evening as the eight other people around the council table with him were decided. He likes what he sees.

“I’m the one who has been waiting so it’s taken a long time,” he said. “It’s kind of nice to see it coming to an end and what the team is going to look like. I really hope that we have a great team because I think we’re living in the most exciting time P.A. and Saskatchewan have ever had.”

Now it’s just a matter of getting sworn in on Nov. 13 and starting the job.
