Martin Ring is back for a third term in Ward 6.
The veteran councillor defeated Jay Yeo in the civic election on Wednesday in a vote of 787-374.
Ring said after a razor-thin win in his first attempt and an acclamation in the second, he’s feeling relief after his third.
“This one feels pretty good,” he says. “I had somebody running in the ward, which was great. It brings interest into the ward, it draws people out. I had lots of conversations with people. Judging from the vote, people are happy with what I’m doing.”
For his part, Yeo enjoyed the experience.
“It was a good experience,” he said. “I think that I talked to a lot of people around here who had some really good ideas and some real interesting concerns.”
Yeo chuckled when asked if another run could be in his future.
“I won’t be throwing the signs away, that’s for sure.”
