The eighth annual Garden Art Show is welcoming many new artists into the sale this weekend.
Many of the artists who have been featured at the annual event since it began have stepped aside this year, paving the way for a new group and plenty of variety, including all forms of paints as well as photography and pottery.
Judie Relitz is one of those artists, and said she's excited to have the chance to sell her work there, including six photographs and four watercolour paintings.
She's a bit new to painting, she said, showing a set of pears in bright green.
"I've done watercolour painting for maybe four years and I thought, 'well, I can put some pictures in,' " she said.
However, there are some longtime artists hanging around, including Shirley Hamilton, who said the atmosphere of the show - which is held in the garden at Hillcrest Inn - is one thing that keeps her coming back.
"It's a good place to bring your grandma, your mother, your wife, have a cup of tea and enjoy this beautiful garden," she said, adding the variety of styles is something they strive for. "There's all fields of painting, there's abstract, there's semi-abstract, there's realistic, and lots of flowers because it's the garden art show."
Organizer Dalelene Yelland owns the Hillcrest Inn Bed and Breakfast, where the art show is held, with her husband Morris. She said the show has become a bit of a tradition since she started it eight years ago after seeing something similar in Yorkton.
"I'd say definitely the crowd that comes through is bigger every year."
The show runs from 1 until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at 133 20th St. W.
All the works on display are for sale, and all money raised will go to the children's ward of the Victoria Hospital.
