Jeanette Wicinski-Dunn had never ridden before, but she looked every inch the part when she mounted her horse to do a trail ride with Terry Grant, star of the TV show "Mantracker."

She was wearing wranglers, a long duster, boots and a cowboy hat for Friday's ride.

Wicinski-Dunn, president of the Big River Chamber of Commerce, bid on the horseback experience with Grant during a fundraiser for the Big River Community Centre.

"I was interested in (the ride) because Mantracker stayed with us when they were shooting (the episode), so I was comfortable with it and thought it would be a neat experience," she said.

It is Grant's first trip back to the Big River area since filming an episode of the Outdoor Life Network show last August.

"Anywhere you get farming and cattle and cowboys and stuff like that, you get some bigger chunks of country and it's nice. Very nice country," said Grant about the riding in the region.

Not only was Grant glad to be back but people were happy to see him.

"It's obviously a big deal for the community to have Mantracker back here on friendly terms," said Gord Vaadeland, Mantracker's guide for the episode and owner of Sturgeon River Ranch.

"Terry was pretty gracious in donating a ride to the charity auction."

Vaadeland arranged for the horses for Wicinski-Dunn's trail ride group.

"I feel confident, I've got ... good cowboys here," said Wicinski-Dunn, looking around the horse pen.

Her husband, Chad Dunn, was looking forward to the ride too.

"I am excited to go. I used to ride horses but haven't gotten to go (lately)," he said.

Dunn and Wicinski-Dunn are both longtime fans of the show and have watched since episode one.

"We were pretty excited about a TV star coming to Big River," said Dunn about learning the episode was to be filmed at Sturgeon River Ranch.

Friday's trail ride didn't go in the same area as the Mantracker episode.

Hi, I also am a fan of Mantracker, and had no idea that he had been in the area or that an episode was filmed. Are there other details available? Was it local people competing? Interesting and exciting stuff! YAY!
